Mathieu Ciulla is a filmmaker and fiddler, born in Monaco and living in Paris.
In an era where any information can be manufactured and distorted, his approach to cinema is driven by the desire to dissolve the porous borders between reality and (science)-fiction - seeking images to translate the world as it is : fundamentally enigmatic.
His first 3 films “Les Sourciers”, “Office Uniform” and “Do Rocks Dream of Flying?” confront the customs and certainties of western figures to the abysses of a natural world that remains unfathomable, and profoundly unconcerned by human’s trivialities.
